Last weekend, a delegation from Totelos traveled to Tilburg for the Tilburg Open Futsal Tournament organised by @toft_merlijn . With two teams, we were once again well represented 💪.
The tone was set immediately with an impressive 4–1 victory by team 2 against the students from Rotterdam ⚽. While team 1 unfortunately remained stuck on zero points after four matches, team 2 managed to secure another win and finished Saturday with a solid six points 📊.
Between matches, there was some enthusiastic dart playing 🎯 and plenty of beers were enjoyed. A few people even stepped outside to enjoy the snow ☃️! After the group stage, we prepared ourselves for the traditional TOFT cantus, where the beer flowed generously once again 🍻. After the cantus, we headed into the city and visited various bars. Eventually, Saturday night ended at the treasurer’s place, as everyone stayed over there.
On Sunday, both teams still had two final matches scheduled, but with twelve hungover or injured players, picking up points proved to be a difficult task. Neither team managed to win another match. And when team 2 miraculously still had a chance to reach the consolation final in the last game ✨, it was skillfully avoided with a 2–0 loss. In the end, we returned to Eindhoven with a consolation prize 🏅 and can look back on an exceptionally enjoyable weekend.
