Last Saturday, we headed to beautiful Nijmegen with a great group of Totelossers for the Copa Morado tournament, organized by our friends at @moradocf. Some of us were a little fitter than others, but we boarded the train full of confidence. There wasn’t much time to wake up, because as soon as we arrived, we had to get straight into action for our first match in the so-called beer league (a.k.a. the recreational division 😉).
En dat begon goed! De eerste wedstrijd wonnen we overtuigend. Wedstrijd twee begon wat stroef, maar met karakter sleepten we er toch een knap punt uit. Daarna volgde een sterke derde wedstrijd die we opnieuw overtuigend naar ons toetrokken.
En toen… de allesbeslissende laatste wedstrijd van de poule. De spanning was om te snijden: bij winst zouden we kampioen zijn. En dat lieten we ons niet meer afpakken: de winst én de titel waren voor ons! 🏆
In between matches, there was of course plenty of time for fun and a well-deserved drink. After the tournament, we enjoyed a delicious dinner together in the city and wrapped up the evening with a pub quiz at Morado’s local hangout.
It was a hugely successful tournament: great matches, tasty drinks, and of course bringing the trophy back home to Eindhoven!! ❤️⚽🍻
